Zero-Mover Session

A zero-mover session has no advancing or declining issues, so A plus D equals zero.

Also known asno-mover session

Definitions

In plain terms

When nothing is classified as rising or falling, raw Net Advances can still equal zero, but a formula that divides by the number of movers cannot be calculated.

Technical

A validated session with A=D=0 has raw signed breadth A-D=0 while the canonical ratio-adjusted expression 1000(A-D)/(A+D) is undefined because its denominator is zero.

Scope

This state requires a real reconciled session; it must not be used as a substitute for missing data, an empty universe, or incomplete classification.

Examples

  • A session with 0 advances, 0 declines, and 25 valid unchanged issues is a zero-mover session.

Common misconceptions

  • An undefined ratio-adjusted value must not be silently converted to zero.
