Definitions
In plain terms
No data and a measured zero are different facts. This policy refuses to update the indicator until the missing session is resolved.
Technical
When a required sequence member lacks valid evidence at the cutoff, the processor emits an incomplete state and performs no ordinary recursive update for that member or dependent suffix.
Scope
This policy does not reject a validated session whose measured input is genuinely zero; it rejects absence disguised as measurement.
Examples
- A missing breadth file pauses the EMA path, while a validated session with equal advances and declines updates it with Net Advances zero.
Common misconceptions
- Zero is not a neutral substitute for missing evidence in a recursive calculation.
