MFI money-flow ratio compares summed positive flow with summed negative flow.

Definitions

In plain terms

It is the intermediate ratio before the bounded 0-to-100 transform.

Technical

MoneyRatio_t = PMF_t/NMF_t when NMF_t is positive; the implementation must define positive-only and zero-flow cases.

Scope

The ratio can be unbounded even though the final MFI is bounded.

Examples

  • A reviewer computes MFI Money-Flow Ratio from a small OHLCV fixture and checks readiness, units, and edge cases before publication.

Common misconceptions
