Definitions
In plain terms
Securities whose comparable prices did not rise or fall may still trade; Unchanged Volume records the reported shares allocated to that group.
Technical
Unchanged Volume is a non-negative field in the same unit, venue scope, and adjustment basis as Up and Down Volume and participates in total volume reconciliation.
Scope
It is retained for source reconciliation but is not part of the canonical Up Volume minus Down Volume input.
Examples
- One million shares traded in unchanged issues contributes one million shares of Unchanged Volume.
Common misconceptions
- Unchanged Volume need not be zero merely because the associated prices were unchanged.
