Intercompany elimination

Intercompany elimination removes specified intragroup balances and transactions from a group's consolidated presentation.

Also known asintragroup elimination

Definitions

In plain terms

A group should not present a transfer between its own members as though it were an external group transaction.

Technical

The bounded D30 profile creates consolidation adjustments from supported reciprocal positions with declared currency and scope policies.

Scope

It does not delete legal-entity postings or implement every consolidation, tax, ownership or FX case.

Examples

  • A synthetic intragroup receivable/payable pair is offset in consolidation while both entities retain their books.

Common misconceptions

  • Matching two entity balances does not authorize ignoring framework-specific FX or net-investment treatment.
