Dividend-Point Index

A dividend-point index measures eligible dividend contributions in index points under a declared constituent and divisor methodology.

Also known asdividend points index

Definitions

In plain terms

It isolates dividend-point accumulation rather than combining dividends with price changes in a total-return index.

Technical

The methodology defines parent universe, dividend eligibility, gross or net basis, ex-date recognition, shares and factors, FX, divisor, corrections, and reset or accumulation rules.

Scope

It is not a dividend-yield index or a total-return index.

Examples

  • A governed methodology records dividend-point index with its source, cutoff, units, parameters, and effective version.

Common misconceptions

  • Dividend-Point Index does not have one universal implementation without the declared methodology, data basis, and constraints.
