Head Dominance

Head Dominance is the fractional amount by which the middle high exceeds the mean shoulder level.

Definitions

In plain terms

The head must be meaningfully higher than both shoulders under the selected margin.

Technical

dominance=(head-mean_shoulder_level)/mean_shoulder_level and canonical dominance must be >= 0.05.

Scope

A small high above the shoulders routes to a triple-top-style distinction instead.

Formula

dominance=(head-mean_shoulder_level)/mean_shoulder_level
LaTeX: d=\frac{h-\bar p}{\bar p}

Examples

  • A reviewer computes Head Dominance on a deterministic close fixture and checks pivot timing, threshold equality, neckline behavior, and rejection diagnostics before publication.

Common misconceptions

  • A small high above the shoulders routes to a triple-top-style distinction instead.
