Definitions
In plain terms
It preserves the price basis observed for that instrument at the time, subject to feed corrections and normalization.
Technical
Unadjusted does not mean untouched bytes: decoding, currency scaling, corrections, eligibility, and source normalization may still have occurred.
Scope
Use an explicit basis label because raw can ambiguously mean source payload, decoded value, or unadjusted economics.
Examples
- A governed dataset records unadjusted price explicitly and preserves the source context needed to interpret it.
Common misconceptions
- Unadjusted Price does not have one universal meaning or policy without its declared source, scope, and data contract.
