Financing Rate

A financing rate is the declared interest rate used to represent the cost or credit of funding an exposure.

Leveraged or excess-return indices may subtract an accrued financing amount based on this rate.

Technical

The field requires rate index or source, currency, tenor, fixing time, spread, day-count convention, business-day adjustment, compounding, fallback, and effective interval.

Scope

It is not automatically the same as a risk-free, policy, deposit, or investor borrowing rate.
