DEMA: reduced lag can overshoot

The default synthetic step stops at DEMA 10.625 while the input remains 10. Change the span or scenario, then step causally to see why negative older filter weights are the cost of lag compensation—not a trade signal.

First negative lag
DEMA = EMA1 + (EMA1 − EMA2)
Both EMA layers use alpha = 2 / (span + 1) and an SMA seed. Span 3 produces the first DEMA at observation 5.

Static fallback: signed span-three weights and the 10.625 step overshoot.
